Francesco Manno


Francesco Manno was an Italian painter and architect. Born at Palermo in 1754, he was originally a goldsmith, but later devoted himself to painting. In 1786 he settled at Rome, working in the studio of Francesco Preziado. Manno became the Secretary of the Accademia di San Luca. OnJuly 1794 he became a member of the Accademia dei Virtuosi del Pantheon. Favored by Pope Pius VI, Manno was appointed Painter of the Sacred Apostolic Buildings in 1800. He died in Rome in 1831.
